TGIF!

It’s Friday, yahoo!
It feels like it’s been a long week and like forever since we had a weekend.
Today I started my day by donating to the Alberta’s Children’s Hospital. I’m not telling you this so you know that I’m a miracle maker (that’s how Country 105 refers to people like me, haha!) but for you to take a moment and be grateful that we have this resource in Alberta and perhaps consider donating.  Over the last few days, Country 105 has been on location for their annual radiothon.  It has been heart wrenching and every morning I have to fight back the tears as I listen to the stories.
Although I don’t have children, hopefully one day I will, and hopefully we won’t ever need to visit but chances are someone I love will and therefore I think it’s important to support the hospital.  One day I hope to work or volunteer at the hospital because I believe in it and feel grateful to have this type of hospital in our community, plus I think it would be really fun.
Back to the weekend… tonight we are going to my aunt and uncle’s to have drinks with them and cousins. My sister and mom will be there too! What a perfect festivity to end the week. Plus my uncle makes a darn good Caesar, yummy can’t wait! Tomorrow night is one of my best friend’s engagement parties, which is sure to be great time. Now to find the perfect outfit…
Happy Friday everyone, and if you are in Calgary enjoy the beautiful weather!

I get it, it’s been awhile!

For a few days I have actually contemplated not writing anymore, I felt unmotivated and like I didn’t have anything important to say. Something has happened to change my mind-the few people that do read my blog have started asked why I stopped? As I went to answer them, I realized I don’t know. Of course I used the same lame excuse, “I’m busy”, which is true but too busy to write? I don’t think so!
So the Blog resumes, and hopefully I won’t let it slide again anytime soon.
Tomorrow marks my three month anniversary with my current job.  I feel like it’s been way longer than three months.  What does this three month mark mean? I get benefits and I have passed my probation period. YAY! I’m still very happy at my new job, love the people, the culture and l my day-to-day role.  I feel pretty lucky to have found this job and to be having these experiences.
Liking your job is really important, working full time is hard enough when you like it, I can’t imagine what it would be like to dread going every day.  I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t last very long in a job that I didn’t like.
Anyways after a long snowy day, a cup and tea and my book are calling my name!
Good night!
